The gap we kept noticing
Walk down any high street and you'll find businesses doing genuinely excellent work — a barber who's been perfecting one fade for fifteen years, a kitchen that makes the best thing in the neighbourhood, a gym where people actually stay.
Then look them up online. A profile photo from 2019. Four posts. A phone number in the bio. Meanwhile the competitor down the road — objectively worse — is fully booked, because someone taught them how to make a Reel.
That gap isn't about quality. It's about who's better at showing up. We closed that gap for one business, then another, and BrandUpdate Labs came out of it.
What we actually do
We update existing local brands for the way people watch today. Not a logo redesign that sits in a folder — the thing your customers actually see: your videos, your posts, your first impression.
You send us raw material from your phone. We turn it into short-form video that competes with everything else in the feed, and hand it back ready to publish.
How we're different
- We don't sell retainers. You pay per video. If we're not earning it, you stop — no contract, no cancellation conversation.
- We work remotely, on purpose. No film crew, no travel day, no studio rental. That's what lets us charge $99 instead of $999 without cutting the part that matters.
- We tell you when video isn't the answer. If your problem is pricing, opening hours or a bad review you haven't replied to, we'll say so on the call. Video amplifies a business — it doesn't fix one.
- We're new, and we're upfront about it. We're building our reputation one video at a time, which means your project gets more attention than it would as account #200 at a bigger agency.
